    About RetirementPlanner.ca

A free, educational retirement planning site for Canadians, built around clear explanations, official figures and calculators you can check.

    What we do

RetirementPlanner.ca explains how Canada's retirement system works — CPP and QPP, OAS and GIS, RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs, workplace pensions and tax — and gives you tools to test your own scenarios. We publish 10 calculators, in-depth guides with worked examples, life-stage and province notes, a glossary and a dated list of key figures.

    How we work

    • Official sources first: figures come from the CRA, Service Canada, Retraite Québec and the Bank of Canada, with the year or period shown.
    • Show the working: our methodology explains each calculation and its limits.
    • Educational, not advice: we don't recommend products, rank providers or tell you what to do.
    • Privacy by design: calculators run in your browser and don't send your inputs to us.

    Who's behind the site

RetirementPlanner.ca is part of the MITEY network of Canadian personal-finance sites. Mitey, the yeti you'll see on our pages, is our planning companion — a friendly guide to the tools, not a financial advisor. We are not affiliated with the Government of Canada.
